Favorites // 2018

I don’t normally do this, but I had a heck of a year and I thought I’d celebrate by sharing my favorite things!  I truly believe that every wedding I attend is beautiful + unique and I enjoy seeing how each couple goes about making it their own.  There are little things from every wedding though, that sure do stand out to me!  To go along with the Christmas spirit, sing along to yourself, these are a few of my favorite things…

Favorite Theme:

Jen + Jesse – I absolutely loved the Octopus theme. It wasn’t over the top, but subtle touches all over made for a distinct + delightful wedding!  Other things I loved about their day – Jen’s yellow shoes, the gorgeous flowers + the breathtaking ceremony venue overlooking Port Clyde harbor.

Favorite Dress:

Lauren + Dan – I love Lauren’s dress SO much that I honestly wish I could get married again, just so I could wear the exact same dress!  It was flawless!  It fit her amazingly!  Her dress had a perfect blend of lace + romance with modern + sultry.  Don’t you just LOVE it?  This also happens to be one of my most favorite Maine venues.  Gor-geous!!!!

I would be crying tears of joy if this was my dress too!  Can’t say I love it enough!

Favorite Father + Daughter Dance:

Matt + Samantha – This may have been one of the most heartfelt father + daughter dances I have ever witnessed.  It is moments like this that I am so very thankful that I am included in these very special days.

Favorite Bridal Photographs:

Sarah + Seth – I immediately want to shout “woot woot” when I see Sarah!  What a beautiful bride!  I’m sure everyday is a good looking day for her, but I know that Seth wasn’t able to take his eyes off of her that day!  Some other pretty things about their day – the joining of two families, the dedication to Seth’s dad and the easy-going attitude of all that attended.

Favorite Support Crew:

MJ + Brian – Let’s be honest, every wedding is filled with those that love + adore the couple, but the admiration that filled the room on their day was just mind-blowing.  I knew, without a doubt, that MJ + Brian are good people when I left their reception that beautiful September night.  Not that I didn’t think it before, but that cemented it in my mind, for sure!  Other things I loved about their wedding – the food trucks, overlooking the amazing western Maine mountains and the table decor.  You guys put on an amazing wedding!

Favorite Mother + Daughter Dance:

Lauren + Ben – it’s not too often that mother + daughters do a dance together, but when your mom is your #1 fan, a dance together can be a wonderful thing.  I must also add that Lauren + Ben came from the furthest away (California) and are utterly beautiful!  I’m praying they book me when they visit Maine again!

I had to add this last one in (because it’s just so fun!)

Favorite Intro:

Heather + Josh – It was a wonderful thing to see two families turn into one on this fine day, but my favorite part of the day was the bumpin’ intro they got!  I loved it!  The music was cranking and everyone was fired up!  I can’t imagine anyone was sitting still when they came in!

Favorite Best Man Speech:

Tia + Andrew – I hear a lot of awesome speeches.  Some of them are funny, some are sad, some are short + some are long.  Their good friend Max won the award though!  It had a mix of all things good!  Other amazing things about Tia + Andrew’s day – their stone venue, the donut wall and the fun music.  I wished I could have stayed to dance the night away!

Favorite Bridal Group Shot:

Jocelyn + Patrick – I say this every time, but I truly mean it, every wedding party kicks butt and is so much fun to be around, but the background for these group shots is so unique that it stands out to me as one of my favorite of the year!  Plus the third photo is just insanely gorgeous and I wanted to re-live it again!

Favorite Outdoor Barn Shots:

Brittany + Chris – I couldn’t get enough of the outside of this beautiful barn venue in Otisfield, Maine.  More importantly, I couldn’t get enough of Brittany + Chris!  They were so cool, calm + collected and it made photographing their wedding day a cinch!  Such a beautiful day!

So dreamy!

My only hope is that 2019 either stays just as amazing or gets even better!  Bring it on!!  <3 <3
